Thanksgiving Food Drive
By Stony Brook MSA | November 11, 2008
You’re hungry. You’ve been hungry for quite some time. You ask your mother for food as you’ve done so many times over, but as always, she only looks upon you silently, sadness dominating her facial expression. You leave the house and look around, noticing the other inhabitants of your community, but you know that you can’t ask them for anything as they are also hungry.
You look around. There’s no “Bleachers” or “Jasmine” to be seen, but even if there were, you’d have no money to purchase anything. Dusk soon falls, and in a short amount of time afterwards, you get sleepy. You’re still hungry. You drift off into an uneasy sleep, and all you can do is hope that tomorrow is not the same.

Alhamdullilah, we have all been blessed so that none of us are in the aforementioned situation. There are, however, people who experience this daily — people who’ve gone through this their entire lives. This realisation should strike a chord with everyone, and if you’ve been looking for a way to help, here’s your chance.
Simply visit the appropriate tables in either the Student Activities Center (SAC) or the Union, and donate any food or non-perishable items you’d like. All donations will go to Long Island Cares, Inc. - The Harry Chapin Food Bank.

I want to know what are you doing on muharram? We should profess the great sacrifice given by the grandson of our Prophet(pbumnhp)
